Global Health Technology Wins “Innovation of the Year 2025” at DEWU with Erland Care Protective Skin and Erland Care Stoma Pad
Stavanger / Bremen, May 2025 – It was the best possible debut: During its very first presentation on the German market, the Norwegian medtech company Global Health Technology was honored with the “Innovation of the Year 2025” award at the prestigious DEWU German Wound and Care Congress in Bremen – for not just one, but two of its products: Erland Care Protective Skin and Erland Care Stoma Pad.
The award was presented during the “Runway of Innovations” – a platform for groundbreaking developments in modern wound care. The winner was chosen through a combined vote by the audience and a jury consisting of Norbert Kolbig (University Hospital Düsseldorf) and Dr. Holger Diener (Hospital Buchholz and Winsen).
The product was presented by Daniela Centonze Anvik, International Sales Manager at Global Health Technology. Her presentation stood out not only for its technical expertise but also for the compelling personal story behind the product: The Erland Care line was born out of the lived experience of Jofrid Erland, a Norwegian nurse whose husband had to adapt to life with a stoma following a colorectal cancer diagnosis. Facing real-world care challenges, she decided to take matters into her own hands. Her guiding motto:
“Dette får vi til.”
(“We’ll make it work.”) – is a symbol of her relentless pursuit of better solutions and a reflection of courage, compassion, and practical innovation.
Erland Care Protective Skin is a skin-friendly, flexible, and super-absorbent silicone dressing designed for dry and exuding wounds as well as peristomal skin. When in contact with fluid, it forms a moist gel that supports an optimal healing environment. It is used in the management of pressure ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers, burns, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and peristomal skin conditions.
Erland Care Stoma Pad is a discreet, highly absorbent pad developed to reduce odor, leakage, and friction around the stoma. Perforated silicone on the adhesive side allows for good skin ventilation and improved wound healing. It offers additional protection and comfort in everyday life – invisible under clothing.
For Global Health Technology, the DEWU Congress marked the company’s first-ever participation in a professional event in Germany – and at the same time, its official market entry. Winning this award powerfully underscores the value of practical, patient-centered innovation.
“Receiving this recognition during our very first appearance in Germany is a strong sign that our work is understood and appreciated internationally,” said Daniela Centonze Anvik. “We are very grateful for this incredible recognition.”
Global Health Technology thanks the DEWU organizers, the jury, and all participants for their trust – and looks forward to expanding its activities in the German healthcare sector.
